2023 WWE Royal Rumble: Match schedule, predictions, rumours, and start time for the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble
We are currently travelling to the first WrestleMania without Vince McMahon in charge.
The best season of the year is here! With Royal Rumble 2023, the WWE's Road to WrestleMania officially begins.
Neither the Royal Rumble nor WrestleMania are just any old events.
After Vince McMahon temporarily stepped aside, his son-in-law Triple H took over and made some significant adjustments that had both supporters and detractors sipping Kool-Aid.
That was also true with Survivor Series WarGames, which was not only a tonne of fun but also did a great job of laying the groundwork for the next wrestling season.
Not only is the Bloodline rising, but it is also united. Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey are shoving aside rivals, but Damage CTRL hold the tag gold.
In the meantime, Gunther and Austin Theory are competing for the secondary championships in very different ways.
The apparent return of Mr. McMahon has undoubtedly created a lot of uncertainty, but it is unclear how much influence he will have on how the business is managed on a daily basis.
However, everything is ready for Royal Rumble 2023, which starts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Saturday, January 28, 2023, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas (1am on Sunday, January 29 27 in the UK).
At 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, a one-hour kick-off programme begins (Midnight in the UK).
What's the full match card and predictions for WWE Royal Rumble 2023?
Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs Kevin Owens
Over the past couple of years, there have undoubtedly been some uncomfortable situations for the Head of the Table, but we have never truly believed that he is in danger of losing his hard-won position.
That doesn't mean it hasn't been entertaining to watch who is vying for the next turn (and how they got there).
"Who's Next?" It's Kevin Owens, who has repeatedly squared off against Roman Reigns in recent years, building layers upon layers to their tale. And that's before you take into account the fact that Sami Zayn, who was Kevin Owens' Fight Forever Best Frenemy, is now firmly a part of the Bloodline.
Speaking of Zayn, Roman agreed to put his championship on the line at the first PPV of the year after KO and a victorious John Cena defeated the tag team of Reigns and SZ.
Will he regret it later in life? In our opinion, Reigns will triumph, and Zayn will be a crucial factor in that outcome.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
WWE Raw Women's Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs Alexa Bliss
This would be a fierce competition even if it were a one-on-one contest. The always-dangerous Alexa Bliss, who is currently on a roll, will go up against the EST of the WWE.
But this contest is more than simply a contest for the top title.
Alexa Bliss' present state of insanity is a result of Uncle Howdy's haunting, protection, and stalking of her as well as the shadowy presence of Bray Wyatt.
Bianca Belair will make an effort to ignore all of these antics and will be sure that she can ignore them so that her power and ability may be used to advantage.
However, we believe that Alexa will have a dark edge and be able to win the crown thanks to the combination of her own outstanding pedigree and the supernatural powers that are coming to her help.
Prediction: Alexa Bliss
Bray Wyatt vs LA Knight [Pitch Black Match]
Since his explosive return to the WWE, Bray Wyatt has been talking the talk, but he hasn't yet put down a marker inside the squared circle.
He's been defeating Jinder Mahal at live events that weren't shown on television, but this is the real deal.
A Bray and LA Knight Pitch Black bout (no, we didn't)
The true issue is who is Uncle Howdy, how will he make his presence known, and in whose corner will he fight. These two men have a lot to give to make this a compelling match-up.
Although Bray Wyatt is difficult to fully believe, we believe that he is now being honest, or at least that he believes he is, and that Uncle Howdy will cost him this victory.
Prediction: LA Knight
Women's Royal Rumble Match
Confirmed Entrants:
- Liv Morgan
- Candice LeRae
- Rhea Ripley
- Raquel Rodriguez
- Shayna Baszler
- Zelina Vega
- Emma
- Bayley
- Dakota Kai
- Iyo Sky
- Lacey Evans
- Xia LI
Rumoured Entrants
- Asuka
- Becky Lynch
- Dana Brooke
- Nikki Bella
- Brie Bella
- Doudrop
- Mia Yim
- Nikki Cross
- Tamina
- Charlotte Flair
- Naomi
- Sonya Deville
- Tegan Nox
- Zelina Vega
The Royal Rumble winner prediction is frequently a fool's errand, but that's what we're here for! The choice appears to be Rhea Ripley based on the verified names (still only 12 out of 30 by the morning of the Rumble, which is much less than half).
She is strong enough, skilled enough, and experienced enough to defeat anyone in that match, but we're going to throw a curveball her way. Hopefully, Bayley will triumph and return to the top of the tree shortly.
Prediction: Bayley
Men's Royal Rumble Match
Confirmed Entrants:
- Kofi Kingston
- Santos Escobar
- Ricochet
- Austin Theory
- Seth 'Freakin' Rollins
- Bobby Lashley
- Baron Corbin
- Rey Mysterio
- Gunther
- Cody Rhodes
- Omos
- Drew McIntyre
- Sheamus
- Braun Strowman
- Karrion Kross
- Dominik Mysterio
- Xavier Woods
- The Miz
- Brock Lesnar
Rumoured Entrants:
- AJ Styles
- Chad Cable
- Damian Priest
- Dolph Ziggler
- Rey Mysterio
- Edge
- Finn Balor
- Johnny Gargano
- Karl Anderson
- Bad Bunny
- Matt Riddle
- Otis
- Shinsuke Nakamura
Nearly two thirds of the names of the men have been verified, with 19/20 declaring. We anticipate plenty of thrills and spills as well as a better Kofi save than the one from the previous year.
Regarding the victor, for months it appeared like Cody Rhodes, should he make a comeback, had the drive and skills necessary to make this bout — and a WrestleMania main event — his.
But since then, we've seen Sami Zayn rise and rise (and fall and rise) as well as the late arrival of Brock Lesnar, who you can NEVER rule out.
No matter what antics go place during and perhaps even after the match, we're betting that Sami Zayn will wow the world and win it.
Prediction: Sami Zayn
