Sports fans have taken notice of Sutherland, 47, because of her looks, and this has helped her win many assignments in front of the camera. Her amazing riches, however, has been mostly derived from her more than 1,200 victories. She is estimated to be worth $20 million, or £16 million, by Celebrity Net Worth. And she's still piling on more; according to Equibase, her lifetime earnings have topped $59 million (£47 million) due to her 12% win percentage.

Over the course of her more than 20-year career, Sutherland's first victory was in October 2000. After making a fortune in her native Canada, she made the decision to go from the catwalk to a full-time saddle position with ease.

Racing has always been her greatest love, and in 2012, she created history with Game on Dude, becoming the first female jockey to compete in the $10 million Dubai World Cup, the world's wealthiest horse race, and the first female Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes winner.

But modeling has only ever been a little part of her life. And that same year, people's mouths fell as she rode a horse nude for a series of Vanity Fair images.

In addition to being shown in Sports Illustrated and a four-page spread in Vogue, she made her acting debut in five episodes of the racing drama series Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman.

Combining her two passions, Sutherland was once the face of the renowned Del Mar racetrack in California. She also gained notoriety in 2010 when she issued a challenge to her ex-fiance, Mike E. Smith, in the "Battle of the Exes."
