Instagram to move towards video content, continue to support photos

Adam Mosseri's declaration follows criticism from public figures Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
Now, he clarifies, "We're going to continue to promote photographs."
"I do believe that more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time," continues Mosseri.

According to Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, the platform will eventually prioritise video content while still supporting still images.

Following criticism from celebrities Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who said "make Instagram, Instagram again" and that it was like the well-known video-sharing app TikTok, Mosseri made a response.

"Let me be clear right away: We'll keep supporting photographs. In the video statement sent to Twitter, Mosseri stated that it was a piece of our legacy.

That being said, I have to be honest and say that I think Instagram will gradually start to feature more video content. Even if we make no changes, we still see this, he continued.
In response to queries from users, Mosseri clarified that the "Full-Screen Feed" is a test for a small fraction of users and includes both photographs and videos.

He did note that this feature is "not yet good," though.

The CEO continued, "If we're going to ship it to the rest of the Instagram community, we have to take it to a positive place."
