According to AI The Game of Thrones Ending

It’s been nearly four years since Game of Thrones came to an end, but many still feel bitter about the way the epic fantasy series concluded. Time hasn’t healed all the wounds yet, though I think I can finally look back at the final season and appreciate more moments than I did at the time it came out.

Why were so many people mad about season 8? I don’t even know where to begin. But most of the complaints came from how Daenerys Targaryen’s storyline was handled, the plot holes we wished got resolved, and of course, the reveal of who would ultimately sit on the Iron Throne. The overarching story through each season of the show was the fight for ultimate power, with many players wanting to rule Westeros and sit on that iconic chair that Aegon the Conqueror created.

In the end, the big resolution was underwhelming, as it wasn’t Cersei Lannister or Daenerys who got the Iron Throne. Instead, it was Bran Stark. Well, technically it was no one because Drogon burned the chair to dust, but Bran was named the king. After that series finale aired, outrage poured in from viewers across the globe, and to this day, fans still argue about who it should’ve been instead.

What exactly is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT has blown up in popularity since it was launched last year in November. It was created by Open AI to produce readable, even creative prose, as well as code on simple prompts. Funny enough, rewriting the ending of Game of Thrones was one of the many applications that the Open AI president Greg Brockman suggested that ChatGPT could be used for during a panel at the SXSW Festival. “That is what entertainment will look like. Maybe people are still upset about the last season of Game of Thrones. Imagine if you could ask you’re AI to make a new ending that goes a different way and maybe even put yourself in there as a main character or something.”

Will ChatGPT Replace Creativity and Humanity?

Since the popularity of ChatGPT started to rise, the question and fear of whether it would eventually replace us writers have increased with it. You can imagine the fear and uncertainty you would feel if you found that a robot could do your job better and faster. Anxiety has risen to a point where organisations like the Writers Guild of America West have started to monitor the development of ChatGPT and other writing AI that are out there in case they develop to a point where they need to give additional protection to writers.

Brockman has assured people and writers alike that ChatGPT is meant to be a tool to augment writers, not replace them. ChatGPT could only take over jobs that no one wants, free of human judgement, like content moderation (a position for which many people are already using mods and bots). ChatGPT is meant to be like an assistant who isn’t perfect but is always eager and never needs to sleep but can do all the dirty work for you. It won’t be for everyone, but it is there to help.

Tyrion Lannister should’ve won the Iron Throne, according to AI

We decided to have a little fun with the debate and asked the AI tool ChatGPT who they think should’ve won the game of thrones. And I don’t exactly disagree with its answer! Here’s the lengthy response it gave me:

As a Game of Thrones fan, I must say that the finale left us with mixed feelings, but if I had to choose someone to sit on the Iron Throne, it would have been Tyrion Lannister.

Firstly, Tyrion has always been one of the most interesting and complex characters in the series. He is intelligent, witty, and has a kind heart, despite being born into one of the most powerful and ruthless families in Westeros. He has also shown himself to be a capable ruler, as he served as Hand of the Queen for Daenerys Targaryen.

Secondly, Tyrion’s story arc has always been about redemption. He has made mistakes in the past, but he has always tried to make up for them. He killed his father and the love of his life, Shae, and he feels guilty about those actions. However, he has also shown that he is willing to take responsibility for his mistakes and learn from them. He has grown and evolved as a character throughout the series, and it would have been satisfying to see him end up on the Iron Throne as a result.

Lastly, Tyrion is a character who is well-liked by many of the other characters in the series. He has formed strong relationships with people like Jon Snow, Davos Seaworth, and Varys. He is someone who can bring people together and who can bridge the gap between different factions. This would make him an ideal ruler for Westeros, which has been torn apart by war and conflict for so long.

In short, I believe that Tyrion Lannister would have been the best choice to sit on the Iron Throne in the finale of Game of Thrones. He is a complex, interesting character who has grown and evolved throughout the series, and he is well-liked by many of the other characters.

In the Game of Thrones finale, Tyrion Lannister was named Hand of the King, which we know means he’d basically be ruling. He’d be aiding in all the tough decisions anyway, especially because, as ChatGPT highlighted, he was definitely capable and had experience. But did Tyrion even want to rule? No, I don’t think so.

Tyrion being named the king in the show’s conclusion probably would’ve gone over way better with viewers, but that’s just not what went down. I’m probably in the minority here, but I actually really love Bran and his storyline. That being said, I still found the decision to have him rule pretty random. Like a lot of the events in the final season, unfortunately.

Poor decisions in the final season or not, it goes without saying that Game of Thrones is still one of the best shows ever made. Hopefully, the conclusion to the book series will be better received, if and when we ever get it. (Article Source)
