Love is amazing thing which can be used as medicine in healing.

According to the triangular theory of love developed by psychologist Robert Strenberg, the three components of love are Intimacy, Passion, and Commitment. Intimacy encompasses feelings of attachment, closeness, connectedness, and bondedness. Passion encompasses drives connected to both limerance and sexual attraction.

Once Mahatama Gandhi said, Where there is love, there is life. This is the only thing which unite us as friends, peers, colleagues, and nations. Even you can't enjoy your married life if there is no love in it. It will be a burden. So all are agreed on its fundamental importance.

After losing a loved one as a death or brake up, we can't come in a form easily. Although we spent thousand of dollars on trips, shopping and business flourish. But cannot get the peace of mind which we get from the loved ones.

1. The Neurobiology of Love

Love is a complex neurobiological phenomenon, relying on trust, belief, pleasure and reward activities within brain. These processes critically involve oxytocin, vasopressin, dopamine, and serotonin.

2. The love as medicine

The word medicine, from Latin word means, "art of healing". It means love is the foundation of art and healing. As you can say, love is a medicine.

3. The Color wheel model of love

The psychologist John Lee compared the styles of love in his book The Color of Love 1973. Lee suggested that there are three primary styles of love.

i. Eros

The term Eros means 'passionate' or 'erotic'. This type of love involves both physical and emotional passion.

ii. Ludus

It's a Greek word means "game". This kind of love is playful and full of fun. There is no serious situation from both side. When the two people show the same emotions they are actually not ready for serious commitment and are wary of too much intimacy. So it's just like a game for them as fun you can say.

iii. Storge

A Greek word, meaning as" natural affection ". It's a huge form of love. In which a person so naturally attachment to his loved ones, like his spouse, family, children and friends. Aa a spouse, in this situation, a person is in long term relationship. He extends his family. He love and respects his parents. Give good time to his siblings. In his work place he cares about his colleagues.

4. The role of love in medicine

Love can be regarded as an essential feature of the practice of medicine. One of the doctor's task is to build a bridge between doctor and patient for quick recovery. Medicine is not only a tool which heal the patient but a doctor should understand the psychi of the patient. Weather the patient needs a serious medication or just attention with the help of placebo.

There is a reason why we go to meet our loved ones when they are ill. Just because of the warmth of love makes us feel better and healthy. Love can actually helps to prevent illness, and help us for quick recovery.
