Telegram Hits 1 Billion Downloads, Highest Ever in India

Telegram application was an application designed with a view to privacy and security, Telegram has just recently crossed the peak of over one billion downloads. Telegram application was launched in 2013 by Nikolai and Pavel Durav.

More recently, to entice new users, Telegram has recently introduced new features like group video calls, screen sharing with voice and a clearer voice chat experience for users.

According to the recently published report of a channel Sensor Tower, 25 percent of Telegram application downloads are done in India. Russia comes second after India, the founding country of Telegram application is also Russia, Telgatam application in Russia accounts for 11 percent of all installed.

Telegram downloads cross 1 billion 

It is important to know here that the number of active users of the Telegram application is much less than the number of total Telegram application downloads, and this happens with almost all apps. Telegram last year shared about 500 million monthly active users at the beginning of 2020, and Telegram also reported that it expects to have one billion active users by 2022.

In Telegram application’s option grouping video call 1000 viewers can join simultaneously, but here as members still maximum 30 people can make video call simultaneously.

Telegram application is the number fifteen app globally which has been downloaded more than one billion times. WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Spotify and Netflix have been downloaded over 1 billion times. Telegram raised more than $1 billion in its current investment round in early 2021.
