Pakistan look to avoid whitewash in final ODI against England
Pakistan look to avoid whitewash when they face England in the fifth and final one-day international (ODI) at Headingley, Leeds today.
England have an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series after beating Pakistan by three wickets in the fourth ODI at Trent Bridge on Friday.
For England, skipper Eoin Morgan will return to his side having missed out on Friday’s match after being banned for one game due to the slow over rate in the third ODI. Should he return along with Jonny Bairstow who was also rested, the two would replace Jason Roy and possibly Joe Root.
They could also shuffle around in their bowling department with Liam Plunkett, Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes possibly coming back into the side to fight for a place in the final 15 of the World Cup.
On the other hand, for Pakistan, Abid Ali is likely to come in as a precautionary measure in place of Imam-ul-Haq who suffered bruising to his elbow after being struck by Mark Wood during the fourth ODI. Meanwhile, Mohammad Amir, who was ruled out of the previous ODIs with chickenpox, remains unavailable for his side.
The match between England and Pakistan will begin at 3pm Pakistan Standard Time.
