Fans might have thought so after photos recently surfaced showing Cyrus locking lips with Kaitlynn Carter, a skin care brand founder and Brody Jenner's ex. The two appear to be on vacation together with friends, and Cyrus has even appeared in Carter's Instagram posts, which could be enough basis for dating rumors. But we shouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.

In the wake of the viral PDA, sources have told People and Entertainment Tonight that Carter and Cyrus's relationship is not romantic; they're "just having fun."

"They've known each other for several months, but the two of them hooking up is very new," a source told ET, adding that none of the duo's friends think their speculated fling will last long.

"No one thinks Miley and Kaitlynn are in a real relationship, they believe it’s more fun on vacation," another source told the outlet. "Liam loves Miley and is hurt, but he knows that she does this."
