What happens when actress's boyfriend watched her nude body in sex scenes?

Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones admits her boyfriend watching those sex scenes was ‘a bit weird’

Daisy Edgar-Jones has admitted that her boyfriend thought her sex scenes in Normal People were ‘a bit weird.’

Daisy plays Marianne in the lauded BBC adaption of Sally Rooney’s novel, which follows her character’s on-again, off-again relationship with school friend Connell (Paul Mescal).

In real life, the actress is in a relationship with Game of Thrones actor Tom Varey, and admitted that seeing her partner’s reaction to her sex scenes in the show was quite amusing.

She told the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast (via Cosmo): ‘My boyfriend actually, he was amazing because what a tricky thing to watch.

‘He loves the series, thank goodness. That’s something I’m very relieved about. ‘But, there was a moment in episode six where he was like: “This is a bit weird. Oh this is weird!”‘ Daisy continued: ‘And we all have to acknowledge that it was a bit weird, and then it was fine.’

Normal People has indeed been named the ‘BBC’s raunchiest show ever’ after viewers discovered Connell and Marianne had sex for a solid 43 minutes, with the series running for a total length of 6 hours. And it turns out even pop stars are tuning in – as Teenage Dream icon Katy Perry had something to say about the show’s numerous sex scenes.

If you’re still worried that there’s no sign of a second series of Normal People, the fate of both Connell and Marianne has been unveiled in a previously unseen short story.

Series star Paul Mescal has already cruelly teased that a second season could be possible as the characters ‘have a lot of life left to live.’
